- If I actually pull this off... then what?
If I actually pull this off... then what?
The fallout from almost reaching 500 posts in 30 days & my next social media move, Instagram SEO.
Hi there,
I’m nearly at the end of my 500 posts in 30 days challenge.
And honestly? I’m not sure how I feel.
This whole month has been a blur of ideas, edits, uploads, and experiments.
I’ve posted from bike rides, cafes, random parks…
I’ve written vulnerable captions, filmed tactical TikToks,
Shared prompts I was nervous no one would care about
or worse call me out for being an ‘imposter’ (my own thoughts here).
But I kept going.
I did the thing (or almost).
And now I’m sitting here asking myself:
If I actually pull this off… then what?
I thought I’d feel proud.
But mostly, I feel… emptied out.
Not in a dramatic way.
Just in that quiet way that hits after you’ve poured everything into something.
When you’ve proved you can do the hard thing
And now have to stand in the responsibility of what that brings.
This challenge is giving me momentum.
And waves of excitement.
It’s teaching me how to work with myself instead of against myself.
It’s showing me how to create before I’m ready.
But its also reminding me:
Growth doesn’t always feel like fireworks.
Sometimes, it’s just a grind.
And that space can feel overwhelming.
Especially when you’re doing it solo.
So if you’ve ever nearly hit a milestone and felt unexpectedly flat…
You’re not broken.
You’re probably just human.
And you’re definitely at the beginning.
While I sit in the tension between momentum and the feeling of wanting to hit pause.
I’ve been pouring energy into something that does feel clear right now…
Your Instagram Summer Glow Up!
(using AI to help)
Part 1
As of July 10th, your Instagram posts even the ones as far back as 2020 can now show up on Google or Bing.
Which means: Your content is no longer just for the feed.
It’s now searchable, discoverable, long-tail! 🎉
So I asked myself:
How do I make my Instagram content work harder beyond the scroll?
Instagram SEO 101
There’s 6 things I’m focused on right now:
Treating the bio and profile like a landing page
Researching keywords like I’m writing a blog
Using keywords in captions but keeping it conversational
Adding keywords to graphics and videos
Making useful, long-lasting content that’s evergreen
Watching data, it shows what’s working (or not)
So let’s start with number 1:
We can track so many metrics on Instagram
(saves, likes, reach, shares, etc)
But today, I want to focus on just 3:
Profile Visits (your traffic)
Profile Visits → Followers (ToFu conversion)
External Link Taps (taking people off the app)
Here’s what I’m working with on @parttimenomadclub this past month:
Profile Visits: 237
New Followers: 38
Content Views: 9,974
So let’s run the numbers to see:
Is my profile converting or leaking interest?
CTR = (Profile Visits ÷ Content Views) × 100
= (237 ÷ 9,974) × 100 = 2.38%
CVR = (Followers ÷ Profile Visits) × 100
= (38 ÷ 237) × 100 = 16.03%
Not just numbers, they’re signals!
Not bad at all for a small but growing account.
Want to calculate your own?
Hit reply and I’ll run them for you.
Or paste them into ChatGPT with the formula and ask it to calculate your CVR.
This gives you a baseline to measure progress.
And help prove ROI to yourself, your client, or your CMO.
Now obviously… this is very neat data reporting.
And organic social media is rarely that tidy.
It’s:
Multi touchpoint across platforms
Often zero-click
Nearly impossible to attribute cleanly
But it’s still worth asking:
Is my content doing its job?
Are the right people clicking?
Are they staying and what are they doing next?
So just for fun…
What if I wanted to grow to my Instagram to
10K followers in just 90 days?
Let’s reverse engineer it
Because we can be both a data-driven and a vibes marketing person!
Target: +9,500 followers
That’s 105 per day
At my current rate 1 follower per 262 content views
It’d need 27,510 views per day to hit that goal!
Sounds wild, right?
But with the right content system, it’s not impossible.
It sounds kind of like one person posting 500 times solo in 30 days…
(some might say!)
That said, one banger post could skip this whole funnel!
I’ve seen it happen.
I had 36 followers when this post went to 99k views.
I jumped to around 140 in one go!
(you’ve probably seen this too).
So bearing all this in mind.
Here’s what I’m focusing on with a little help from AI:
A strong, search optimised bio
A click worthy profile
A value led offer that makes the off-platform click irresistible.
Because your content might get the view.
But your profile helps the conversion.
And your offer is what builds the business.
That’s the game.
Before we get into updating your bio (part 2)…
It’s so important to get clear on your positioning.
Because your profile can’t convert if your message isn’t clear.
And SEO can’t help you if you don’t know what you stand for.
So let’s prep for next week’s AI workflow, where we’ll update your profile
Here’s your homework!! (I feel like such a teacher 👩🏫)
You need to figure out:
What are you known for (or want to be known for)?
Who do you help, how and why?
Why should someone follow you over anyone else?
If you can answer those questions, your content, your bio, and your offer will start working with you.
Here’s my signature AI Clarity Map that’ll help you get there. (if you didn’t do it already)
I’ve also dropped my AI for Social Media Playbook prompts there too.
I’ve had real life social media managers tell me this exactly what they needed.
You can tweak for brand work too!
Before I go, I want to shout out 2 fellow marketers and Remotely Social newsletter subscribers:
Thank you for sharing my newsletter on LinkedIn!
I loved seeing that, really meant a lot.
Until next time when the final results of the 500 post in 30 days challenge will be revealed too!
See you on your socials!
(don’t forget your homework 😂)
Stay Remotely Social 💅,
Nikki 😉
